What path does Raquel follow after her boxing career and how does B.A.B.E. fit into it?
- Shortly after Raquel Balboa’s final, victorious match against Rayne, the Foxy Boxing League closed its doors. But Rocky was allowed to keep her belt. She had earned it. She spent the next few weeks making guest appearances on the talk show circuit, discussing her career.
- Soon, Raquel embarked on a modeling career, gracing the cover of many sports magazines throughout the country.
- And as a very special thank you to all the fans who stuck by her, Raquel accepted an offer to pose for one of the top pin-up magazines in the country, Playdoll. Her spread was one of the most popular that the magazine had ever put out.
- But over time, Raquel realized that she missed the old boxing gym and being part of the boxing world. So, she came up with a plan, brought several investment partners together, and began a new venture.
- Within months, Raquel Balboa introduced her venture to the world: a new Foxy Boxing league known as B.A.B.E (Beautiful Angels of Boxing Entertainment). During its first season, she brought in some fighters from the defunct Foxy Boxing league and plenty of new fighters as well. And over time, that roster would change.
- Rocky Balboa even donated her old Championship belt to the league for a new Champion to earn.
- Although she wouldn’t be fighting in the ring, Raquel involved herself further by taking on a management role. She was happy to get back into the gym, even if it was to help train others.
- And three of the new fighters she took on and trained would become some of the best boxers the league would know.
- There was Daisy Taylor who would become known to fans as ‘The Texas Tornado’. Raquel found her training under another manager in a run-down gym and offered to take over her career path to great success. Daisy would go on to become one of the toughest, roughest gals in the league… a woman who always stood up to the heels and bullies who faced her.
- There was Lisa ‘The American Dream’ Simmons, who would take much inspiration from Rocky. After a successful Olympic career, she came under Rocky’s wing and became an even better fighter. In homage to the retired champ and her previous trainer, Liberty Lane, she donned boxing attire inspired by them.
- And then there was Ashley Powers, Raquel’s most successful student, who would reach heights of popularity not seen since Rocky herself was in the ring. Ashley had established herself in other, lesser leagues, but she really hit the big time when she met Raquel. With her new mentor’s guidance, she went on to capture the B.A.B.E. belt during the first B.A.B.E. season. And the fans cheered her on as a more-than-worthy successor to Liberty Lane and Raquel Balboa.
- Raquel’s new Foxy Boxing league was greeted with tremendous success. Fans around the world tuned in to the matches and fighters from around the world joined up. By the second (current season), the roster had settled down to around 20 of the best fighters.
- And after the league was accepted by fans world-wide, Raquel stepped down from her role as President of the league, manager, and trainer. She left the ring and left the league to travel around the world promoting B.A.B.E., Beautiful Angels of Boxing Entertainment. And that was the last time Raquel was seen in the ring.
