Midway through the first season of B.A.B.E., new boxers started getting introduced to the league. Yumi Yamada faced one of these new boxers early on.
Yumi had been making great strides in the new league, but now faced a tougher challenge when one of these new boxers made her B.A.B.E. debut.
The Shadow. No one knew much about this new boxer but when she stepped into the ring, a wave of dread passed through the arena.
Would Yumi Yamada show this new fighter was B.A.B.E. girls were all about or would the Shadow make a powerful statement with her debut?

- It had been another exciting night for B.A.B.E. fans. A new boxer was set to make her debut that evening and a crowd favorite was already strutting around the ring. “Ladies and gentlemen… fighting out of the blue corner, hailing from Osaka, Japan, please welcome Yumi… Yamada!!” The crowd was on its feet cheering her on. Yumi smiled in the center of the ring, looking forward to the match.

- “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner… from parts unknown, making her B.A.B.E. debut tonight… please welcome The Shadow!!” Parts of the crowd cheered, but other parts jeered. They saw a dark looking fighter in the ring and didn’t know how to process her image. She looked like she belonged in a Marilyn Manson video. The Shadow just sneered at the crowd.

- DING! DING! And the match began with Yumi Yamada welcoming the Shadow to B.A.B.E. with a pounding right fist to the head! Yumi took control of the match early on and proceeded to teach her opponent what the league was all about.

- After enduring a few punches from Yumi, the Shadow thanked her for the welcome with a quick, sharp left that crushed Yumi’s jaw. The Shadow then proceeded to demonstrate why she was B.A.B.E.-worthy as she spent the next few moments showing her opponent with cutting fists.

- To Yumi’s dismay, she was unable to wrest control back from the Shadow during the rest of the round. The Shadow used brute strength to bully her opponent around the ring. DING! At the sound of the bell, Yumi was glad to get the break she needed.

- Both fighters rested in their corners, considering their next strategy for the coming round. Yumi looked across at the Shadow, trying to read her, but the Shadow just scowled in her corner. DING! And the second round came before they knew it.

- As soon as the bell rang, both women leaped to the center of the ring. The Shadow charged in with a powerful right fist that twisted Yumi’s head to the side. The Shadow then began to jab at Yumi, slowly taking her apart piece by piece.

- Yumi Yamada took her bruises and then fought back with quick belly shots to the Shadow’s midriff. Soon Yumi’s punches took on more power and she hit her opponent with tremendous fists to the body.

- Soon, however, the Shadow came back in the fight and pounded back into Yumi with sharp jabs to the head. Yumi backed off, trying to escape the quick fists of the Shadow and was grateful when the bell rang to end the round. DING!

- Yumi sat back in her corner, exhausted. She took advantage of the rest period to gather her remaining strength. In the next round, she would send her opponent to the mat and end this fight. The Shadow, meanwhile, relaxed with an air of confidence. She saw what her opponent brought to the fight and she wasn’t bothered. In the next round, she would crush her opponent and show the crowd that B.A.B.E. was about to enter the Shadow realm.

- Both fighters skipped out of their corners to the center of the ring. Yumi’s body was tired, but she put all her energy into a left fist aimed for the Shadow’s head. The Shadow targeted Yumi’s body with a powerful right. Both women fired their shots at the same time, but Yumi’s reach was off and she barely missed the Shadow’s head. The Shadow, however, hit her target perfectly, pounding into Yumi’s chest with force!

- Yumi tried to muster her remaining strength for a body blow, but she leaned in too close with a punch that caught air and the Shadow capitalized. The dark boxer slammed a short, quick uppercut into Yumi’s jaw, knocking her head senseless!

- Yumi crashed forward onto the canvas in a daze. Her body was stretched out on the mat as the Shadow raised her fist in dominance. And the count began. “1… 2… 3… 4… 5… “

- Yumi did not stir. She remained still on the canvas throughout the count. “6… 7… 8… 9… 10! DING! DING!” And it was over. Yumi Yamada did not give the Shadow the welcome she was hoping to.

- “Ladies and gentlemen… the winner of this bout by knockout in the 3rd round… THE SHADOW!!” The crowd booed the new fighter, but the Shadow did not care. She had arrived at B.A.B.E. with a resounding victory. She raised her fist high in the air, with the B.A.B.E. title in her sights. The Shadow had debuted successfully.
